New Mini Series Complete!
I recently created a small series of four mini original seascapes featuring one or two pesky seagulls. These will probably be my last seagulls for a little while as I do tend to turn towards seasonal work at this time of year, focusing on landscapes and autumnal floral and fauna.
These have been in my head for a little while and I have definitely been in a ‘mini’ art mood of late, so ta dah…
This is ‘Two’s Company’ - one of four new pieces (as seen below).
It’s fellow pieces are, clockwise from top right - ‘Love Island’, ‘Keep Your Distance’, ‘Two’s Company’ and ‘A Bird’s Eye View’.
These sweet little originals were inspired by my local South Devon coastline as well my love of coastal alpine flowers and plants. Can you see those little pops of colour just peeping through the rocks. These pieces are individually featured in more detail on my originals collection page.
I seem to create my best coastal pieces when the sun is shining - not that the weather should dictate my creativity but it somehow does. I guess the combination of being only a few minutes from the beach and lovely bright sunshine just puts me in the right place to create a seascape. I’m very pleased with this little bunch!
They are on display in my studio as well as available to buy on the website. As I often say, textile art is so hard to capture on a photo and screen. In the flesh is always best!! There is a lovely shimmer I’ve added to these pieces to create light and movement. Despite being miniature, this extra touch is so effective.
