Glowing In The Dark….

Yes textile art can glow and yes I’m still locked in autumn creating mode - the glow is from the evening light of my home studio! I’m enjoying creating these pieces so much that it’s too tempting to go and have a little tinker around when the opportunity arises. I don’t think I’ve ever spent quite so long on one theme (well except for the Theatre Royal show 2018) but I can’t help it. For some reason this particular autumn is exceptionally vibrant and alive with colour that I am still brimming with potential artworks in my head.

I am particularly obsessed with trees at the moment. Oh and cow parsley! (nothing new there) Both of these completely change character with each season and I am so drawn to the different appearances and features, no matter how subtle sometimes.

I have actually completed one already!! There are plenty more to go!

This is ‘Stillness’. An elegant addition to the collection. I actually really like the simplicity of this one, allowing the intricate details of those seed heads to sing. I also love the contrast of the chunky frame against the delicate work. As you can see the colours look quite different in daylight - although at best its so hard to capture the actual colour tones on a screen. This one is off to my studio in the morning and visitors are more than welcome to see it as well as other pieces I have on display.

This is a baby original measuring 12 x 12” (image 6 x 6”) and I have to say it looks rather nice sat on my lounge cabinet! It is however for sale and now listed in my Originals Collection. I am very aware this collection is looking a little sparse at the moment - mostly due to the fact that my last autumn series never actually made it to the website!! I’m hoping there will be plenty to choose from in a few days time - now I’m very much in the creating zone!! My studio floor is evidence of this!! There’s even more at my main studio!!!

Keep your eyes peeled for more new work coming soon. I’m very excited for autumn series part two :)

As always, please get in touch with any enquiries - reservations are always possible.
