Floral Exhibition At RHS Rosemoor

Rather excited about this!!

I was recently invited to exhibit at this year’s annual art exhibition at RHS Rosemoor in North Devon. I’ve never actually been to this floral paradise and to be asked to take part in this show was music to my ears. I’ll be one of 12 Southwest female artists taking part, each one bringing a unique style of their own. The exhibition will focus on gardens, wildlife and landscapes and of course, it’s a perfect excuse for me to create a collection of botanical work.

I’ve really fallen in love with florals / botanical work this year (again). Since becoming an artist I’ve worked on many themes and styles, favouring certain ones at certain times. Often these preferences are related to themed exhibitions, what is feeling right at the time or simply just mood! I cannot deny my whimsical tendencies but one theme I come back to over and over is flowers. Flora, fauna, trees, blossom….. I love it all. I truly believe the Covid pandemic has drawn many people to reconnect with and become closer to nature once more and although I’m always seeking natural inspiration, I certainly have felt more absorbed than ever over the last twelve months. It’s now time to translate it into art!

The exhibition runs from September 2nd until 3rd October. Further details can be found here. I am planning to spend a day in ‘Artists Corner’ aka Meet The Artist day but not sure when yet. I’ll keep you posted. I have to say it feels great to announce an exhibition once more. I really have missed them.

I will leave you with wonderful words by Claude Monet…

‘I must have flowers, always and always’.
