Evening Light….
Working late this evening!!! I just can’t help it though - the evening light at the moment is magical. Natural light is so important, especially with fine detail work such as these intricate hydrangea flowers. The more hours I get of it the better at the moment! Here I am in my home studio working on a new piece for my NEW studio opening exhibition in May! Petals, petals, petals. This piece is one of those pieces that requires a rather large amount of patience but I know it’ll be worth it!
Spring always sends me into a floral frenzy and particularly so this year as I was recently invited to exhibit at the RHS Rosemoor's annual art exhibition in September. This beautiful RHS garden in North Devon is a botanical paradise and I’m so excited to visit soon and start planning! The theme is gardens, wildlife and landscapes so I can definitely feel a few more botanicals coming on! I'm so looking forward to this event and feel very honoured to be one of the twelve Southwest artists selected. To find out more about this wonderful place, please visit https://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/rosemoor
I will have a few florals on display when my new studio opens on 28th May!! Edge West Studio is based in Yealmpton in the South Hams, Devon and the studio will be open for a 3 day weekend. LOTS of new work to see (which is why you havent seen many new ones recently!) Please see my contact page for directions.
I really hope you can make it!!
