The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year…

The season of goodwill, mulled wine and snow. Every year I hope for snow but alas, Devon rarely gets a white Christmas. I always get mulled wine though :)

Still my world of textile art is a little too busy to worry about snow at this time!

It’s lovely to be getting so many visitors at the studio. It’s all looking very festive in there too. I’ve also been busy sending out orders for Christmas, including secret gift wrapped ones. This is a job I always enjoy and dare I say it, I am getting quite good at wrapping now :) I am always happy to send out gifts of art directly to the recipients with a hand written card (one of mine of course!) - saves time and extra postage. We all seem so very short of time these days and I know how grateful I am if a business does this for me.

Here’s one about to head off to Santa’s sack via Royal Mail.

My last date for Christmas orders via the website is this coming Wednesday 15th but the studio will be open until Saturday 18th December. I’ve lots of framed and unframed prints and originals ready to go. It’s unusual for me to close the studio a week before Christmas but this year I’ve decided to stop a little earlier and get myself organised for Christmas and also celebrate my two daughters’ birthdays which are both that very week!

Even more unusually I’ve decided to hibernate to my home studio for January and February - to create, create, create!! I will of course be more than happy to open the studio for appointments - just get in touch! Often people visiting the area that know my work like to pop in and I’m always happy to oblige.

This is one of my personal favourite Christmas themed pieces… ‘Winter Wonderland’. I post it every year because it always makes me smile - and feel ‘Christmassy’. Inspired by a family holiday to Austria, this piece is just filled with winter joy.

Two of my most ‘Christmassy pieces’ Winter Wonderland (above) and Apres Ski below. Both happy joy filled images for very different reasons. Both of these artworks were inspired by a wonderful family holiday to Austria one Christmas. I love them both - they make me smile.

These are both available as limited edition prints (in fact Apres Ski original is also for sale). These are definitely ones for lovers of this time of year.

Well I think it must be time for a warm mulled wine and a mince pie….
