Looking Up! Something new…

This is one of those pieces that’s been in my head for a long long time. Finally I got it out and onto canvas, well, textile canvas.

Looking Up was inspired by those beautiful leafy autumn skies we all love at this time of year. The title also gives reference to the hope and positivity we all very much are in need of in these trying times. Here it is making its debut in the studio….

Excuse the reflection… its actually glazed in non reflective glass but occasionally the fluorescent lights in the studio just catch it at the wrong time! I love the frame on this one too… a perfect addition of soft gold which complements the shimmers of gold leaf in the piece.

I particularly love working with this warm colour palette. For me these hues epitomise autumn - a season which simply fills the senses. This is definitely a piece for a fellow autumn lover.
