New Workshops!

Now I have a much more suitable space in such a wonderful location, I have decided to run free motion embroidery workshops again. I’ve enjoyed them so much in the past and really looking forward to teaching again.

If you’d like to learn the art of free motion embroidery and appliqué, this could be for you! Not only is this skill used to create artwork but can be used to embellish clothing, soft furnishings and greeting cards. All levels of ability are welcome, including complete beginners.

An example here of some of the wonderful creations from previous workshops.

The workshops are based in my lovely light and airy studio at Alma Yard in Plymouth and limited to 5 students. The wonderful Heyl Bakery, based here at Alma, will be serving a delicious buffet lunch, which is included in the price of £115. All materials are included. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a sewing machine in working order.

The workshops are guided sessions and please dont worry if you dont feel you are creative enough! I have templates to inspire!

Students are invited to bring their own materials if they prefer and some students have a firm idea of what they’d like to create - which is always welcomed of course!

I actually get great joy from seeing a complete novice, even to a sewing machine, leave with a piece of artwork they’re proud of. Equally I love teaching advanced students who know which skills they specifically wish to develop.
