A Special One…

‘‘The Simple Things’. Something special I’ve been working on just recently….

Eleven weeks ago, my dear dad Jeff passed away. Needless to say, my creating came to a standstill…. until I recently remembered a lovely drawing he did a few years ago.  He was definitely more creative than he had us believe. Here it is… recreated in textile art.

I think he would have approved - he loved flowers and bright colours and he also loved my artwork. He certainly had plenty of it on his walls. Here’s an image of his original drawing.

I will be doing prints of this piece and 100% of the sale proceeds will go to Loros hospice in Leicester, as a token of my gratitude for the wonderful care they took of dad during his many visits.  I’ll never forget the support and kindness we all received.  As you can see this is the original, sitting on my kitchen dresser. I don’t have too many pics of my own art in my home but this original will of course get a special place. Hopefully the prints will be on the website within the next week or so. They will priced at £55 for a mounted print - a special price as I’d like to raise quite a bit for this worthy cause.

My sister Louise named this one and it’s a perfect title. He really did love the simple things in life. He also had a brilliant sense of humour. Life will never be the same again but we have those terrible jokes as well as a whole load of wonderful memories to hold onto. A greatly missed dad and grandad xx
