Scilly Treasure….

Ooh, this beautiful beach candy has come all the way from the Isles of Scilly. These beautiful seashells were given to me by a good friend and they will be perfect for the next seascape I have in mind…

There’s no better way to add authenticity to a piece of textile art than to add actual material from the location (or theme) in which you are portraying. I won’t find it easy to part with these although I know they will enhance a new piece I have in mind perfectly. These beauties were found on Tresco and St Martins - two of my favourite isles in Scilly. Just holding them makes me want to return!

The new piece I am cooking up will be similar in style to one I’ve recently completed - Spring Tide. This is close up of the piece - not the artwork in it’s entirety. I’m so excited about experimenting with a new element for the next one…

As you can see, I’m still very much in a coastal frame of mind - although I do have some spring florals to complete - and a commission!

I’m so looking forward to this next project :)). Keep your eyes peeled.
