Happy Birthday To The RNLI!

This year the RNLI is celebrating 200 years of saving lives at sea! To mark the occasion I decided to create something special. A textile artwork featuring the beach, and of course the RNLI!

This is ‘In Safe Hands’

A vibrant fun-filled piece, crammed with oodles of detail. This piece wouldn’t have been complete without a strong RNLI presence so to cover all bases, I have a hunky lifeguard, a lifeguard station and of course, a lifeboat! This was such a joyful piece to create and knowing when to stop was my biggest issue!

The original is on display in my Plymouth studio and you can read more details about it here.

A lovely double white wood frame sets this rather mahoosive piece off perfectly!

There is an edition of Giclee prints and 50% of all sale proceeds will be donated to this wonderful charity. For more details on these, please click here.

Living by the sea and with a family of water sport lovers, I have been and still am very grateful for the RNLI guarded beaches where I live. I’m very proud to support this charity and I’m delighted that once again, the RNLI have commissioned another family organiser calendar for 2025, featuring many of my vibrant coastal artworks.

These have been very popular in previous years and I think they’re a bargain at £10! For more details please visit RNLI Shop. I also have a small number of these in my studio but all RNLI shops in the UK should also have them in stock.

Well I think this perhaps was my last summer themed piece of the year! It’s approaching that time when I switch the sunny palette for autumn golds and coppers! Watch this space!
