Beyond The Birch…

Regulars will surely know just how much I truly adore silver birch trees. Those lanky, lumpy bumpy forms with their unique, flaky bark consistently feed my creative passion. I cherish every single second of the artistic process, and the ability to create an image so captivating that I could simply step into it feels like an absolute bonus.

This is ‘Beyond The Birch’ - hot off the press!

Always following the seasons as they gracefully unfold, I’ve filled this with rich and inviting autumn texture. This time of year brings a wonderful array of colors and sensations that inspire my work. I love the crooked little path that winds its way toward the clearing, inviting exploration and curiosity along the journey. The wonderful woodland around Kitley woods and Newton Ferrers in the South Hams are my main sources of inspiration for these pieces although the endless walks through  Swithland woods in my childhood (in Leicestershire) are still firmly etched in my mind.

Humble beginnings :) I dont often capture early stages like this but I know people like to see these progress pics. I love this stage as I often genuinely dont know how the piece will turn out…

I’ve quite a few other seasonal pieces in my Original collection too, at the moment, if you fancy a peek.

It will soon be time to move onto capturing the frostier months!!
