Rock Stars!

The gulls are back!! I do love these pesky creatures!! This is one of my new textile art pieces, ‘Watching And Waiting!’. A fresh coastal piece inspired of course by the beaches on my Devon doorstep. This is the first time I’ve actually combined abstract and figurative styles and I’m delighted with the result. The textured semi abstract sea works perfectly as a back drop for my rocky gulls, watching and waiting for people, pasties, fish and chips - perhaps even the odd ice cream! A beach is never complete without them!

You all know how much I love creating these seagull pieces. There are more coming!! I can’t resist! I’ve been concentrating a lot on floral work recently and that is what I so love about diverse subject matter - flitting between scenes and themes keeps it all so fresh and exciting for me. I do often respond to my environment when it comes to deciding what to do next - seasons, day trips, occasions etc. For now, my love of my garden and the beach is keeping me in all the ideas I need. At the moment!!!!!!
